Israeli army claims it killed a Hamas member in Khan Younis
The Israeli army claims it has killed a man it describes as a Hamas member in a strike in Khan Younis, in the south of the Gaza Strip, as Al Jazeera reports.
In a statement on X, the army said the person was Saqr Nabil Musa al-Qaisi and claimed that he had taken part in the October 7, 2023 attacks in southern Israel, without presenting evidence for this claim. The army added that al-Qaisi was involved in recruiting and activating Hamas members, which according to it constituted a violation of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement.
Hamas has not yet commented on the Israeli army’s claim. The case comes amid mutual accusations of ceasefire violations, while the fighting in Gaza continues in parallel with the wider U.S.–Iran war.
