“There is no military solution” to the war, Iran tells the U.S. at the U.N. Security Council
There is no military solution to end the war with the United States, Iran declared today at the U.N. Security Council, calling on Washington to follow the path of dialogue, as Al Jazeera reports.
Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, said the era of “wasting time and dictating demands has ended,” stressing that Iran has maintained “full readiness” to defend itself from further American and Israeli attacks and would “respond decisively” if necessary.
“We did not attack, but we responded decisively, and the world must understand: this war was not Iran’s choice. It was imposed on us,” Iravani told the Security Council. He also accused U.S. President Donald Trump of sending “contradictory messages” in managing the conflict.
The statement comes as Tehran says it has received the U.S. response to the “7-day plan” to end the fighting and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and that it is being reviewed internally — a signal that the diplomatic channel, however fragile, remains open.
