Konjufca in The Hague: “We Expect an Acquittal for the Four Former KLA Leaders”

Foreign Minister and Diaspora Glauk Konjufca declared outside the Special Court in The Hague that they expect only one verdict: “an acquittal for the four former KLA leaders.”

Konjufca said the war was a necessary defensive war with one goal — “freedom for our people”, Telegrafi reports.

“This verdict is an acquittal for the four former KLA leaders. Our war was a necessary defensive war and had one goal — ‘freedom for our people’ and ‘stopping the genocide being committed at that time by Serbia’s military, police and paramilitary forces.’ This is not only a subjective conclusion of our people, but during the trial it was also proven by witnesses, including the most prominent international figures. From NATO’s American general Wesley Clark to the former US undersecretary of state, dozens of international figures testified to the just defensive war of the people of Kosovo. That war was waged by the KLA. The KLA was led by the General Staff. And in the General Staff there was never any joint criminal enterprise,” Konjufca said.
