Kreni-Promeni: Foreign Ministry secretary general Kozarev ordered obstruction of diaspora polling stations

The “Kreni-Promeni” movement has announced that Dušan Kozarev, secretary general of Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and member of the Central Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), gave a verbal instruction to obstruct the opening of polling stations in the diaspora — an act which according to the movement would constitute a violation of the law.

According to the announcement, the particular target of the obstruction is the United States and Germany, countries home to a large number of Serbian citizens. Kreni-Promeni warned that denying the opportunity to vote to hundreds of thousands of Serbs living abroad would be a direct blow to their electoral rights.

“Serbia also belongs to the people who live beyond its borders. No one has the right to make it harder for them to exercise their right to vote through administrative obstructions,” the movement said in its reaction.

The accusations come ahead of the early parliamentary elections to be held on October 25, 2026, in which the diaspora — with hundreds of thousands of Serbian citizens in the US and Germany alone — is expected to play a significant role.
