Kurti and Hamza enter a meeting again, on the eve of the expiry of the deadline for the president

The Prime Minister of Kosovo and leader of Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, is holding a meeting with the chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, as Telegrafi reports.

At the meeting, Kurti is accompanied by the MP and Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, while Hamza is accompanied by the PDK MP Rrahman Rama.

The meeting is taking place after the Assembly’s approval in principle of the amendments to the Law on Specialist Chambers, and at a time when LVV and the PDK have disagreements over the proceeding of this law in the second reading.

LVV wants the Assembly to elect the new president of Kosovo before the second vote on the amendments to the law, while the PDK insists that the amendments to the Law on Specialist Chambers be approved first and that the election of the president proceed afterwards.

The constitutional deadline for the election of the president ends on 6 October.
