Kushtrim Gara: Families of the missing welcome the operation in the north — “The pain cannot be undone, but it brings solace”
The families of missing persons have welcomed the operation by Kosovo’s Special Prosecution and police in Zubin Potok, where nine people were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of having committed war crimes, Klan Kosova reports from its “Ora Shtatë” show.
According to the announcement by the Prosecution and the police, operation “Dosja 23” is linked to the “Intellectuals Group,” with three of 23 persons identified after the discovery of mass graves in Zubin Potok.
On “Ora Shtatë,” Kushtrim Gara of the Government Commission on Missing Persons said he welcomed and supported the actions of the Kosovo Police, namely the Directorate for the Investigation of War Crimes. “Families have waited long and deserve the full truth and justice. As the families themselves have said, justice cannot undo the pain, but it brings solace to families and proves that their suffering has not been forgotten,” Gara declared.
Gara announced that families have said the operation does not undo the pain, but is a kind of solace for them.
Regarding other mortal remains currently undergoing DNA examination, Gara told Klan Kosova that every effort is being made to process them as quickly as possible.
