Lushaku: LDK cannot become part of this initiative, it risks consequences for Kosovo
The MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Jehona Lushaku, declared that for LDK the Kosovo Liberation Army and its war have been and remain just, but expressed opposition to the initiative to amend the law linked to the Specialist Chambers. Lushaku stressed that responsibility for individual actions cannot be transferred onto a community or onto the whole KLA war.
“For LDK, the KLA and its war are just. No individual responsibility can be collective”, Lushaku declared, as Telegrafi reports.
“According to her, the Assembly of Kosovo cannot promise citizens that a decision taken in this institution will undo the situation created over the years.
“We cannot promise you that a decision in the Assembly can undo… Approving the changes in the Assembly cannot guarantee their implementation and the results promised to citizens today”, she said.
“The LDK MP warned that the initiative may not produce the claimed legal effect, while its consequences, according to her, may remain with the state of Kosovo.
“This initiative may consequently not produce the legal effect that may be claimed, and its consequences may remain with the state of Kosovo”, Lushaku said.
“She also stressed that opposing the initial report is not enough to undo the investigations and the consequences that followed.
“Opposing the initial report does not undo the investigations and the consequences that followed”, she declared.
“Lushaku asked that every claim of errors, injustice or violations during the process be examined by the competent institutions and instances.
“Every claim of error, injustice or violation in evidence must be established by the competent instances”, the MP stressed.
“In her stance, Lushaku placed special emphasis also on the international dimension of the issue. She said that for Kosovo it is necessary to have international opposition and diplomatic action in coordination with international partners.
“International opposition is just as necessary. Unilateral actions without this coordination risk weakening the international credibility our country needs”, she declared.
“At the end, Lushaku made it known that LDK will not become part of this initiative, while warning of the possible political risks it may bring.
“LDK cannot become part of this initiative. LDK warns in time about the possible political risks it may carry. We call on you to take these risks seriously”, Lushaku concluded, as Telegrafi reports.
