Lushtaku Ahead of the Hague Verdict: “Today, Kosovo’s Fate Is at Stake There”

Skenderaj mayor Sami Lushtaku has shared his emotions ahead of the verdict against the former KLA leaders in The Hague.

“I have never been more emotional than today, because today Kosovo’s fate is at stake there. What Kosovo’s path will be after this decision — I’m talking about those who know what a state is and what this country’s institutions are. I’m not talking about those who have served and continue to serve someone else,” Lushtaku told RTV Dukagjini.

Asked whether he believes the former KLA leaders will be freed, Lushtaku replied: “I always hope and believe, but I have doubts that there is much justice there.”

His statement comes just before the announcement of the verdict in The Hague, which is being followed with great attention in Kosovo. (via Telegrafi)
