Milatović met Trump and invited him to visit Montenegro

Montenegro’s President Jakov Milatović announced that on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly he had the opportunity to meet U.S. President Donald Trump, as Montenegro’s public broadcaster RTCG reports.

Milatović proposed to the American president a visit to Montenegro, inviting him also to play a game of golf overlooking one of Europe’s most beautiful bays, RTCG also reports.

“In June in Montenegro we hosted European leaders, who did not hide their enthusiasm for the beauties of our country. President Trump’s visit would have a special importance and would be historic, as he would be the first American president to visit Montenegro. I believe his coming would also be another opportunity to show the best that Montenegro has, but also to further strengthen the friendship and strategic partnership with the United States of America,” Milatović said.

Montenegro is a NATO member, while a visit by Trump to Podgorica would be historic — it would be the first time that an American president, incumbent or former, visits Montenegro.
