Kosovo–EFTA: Kosovar products set off for the Swiss market

Today, at the Dheu i Bardhë customs point, the first shipment under the Free Trade Agreement between Kosovo and the EFTA states was dispatched to Switzerland. The shipment consists of modular houses produced by the company “Green House” from Peja.

The shipment marks one of the first concrete steps in implementing the Agreement, which officially enters into force on 1 October 2026, according to the Ministry of Industry.

The Agreement aims to create more favourable conditions for Kosovar businesses and to facilitate the export of goods and services to Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

Under the Agreement, exporters of industrial products will benefit from the liberalisation of customs tariffs. For a number of agricultural products, reduced or zero tariffs are foreseen, as well as preferential quotas, in line with the conditions set out in the Agreement.

The Agreement also includes more favourable opportunities for the export of services, aiming to expand the presence of products and services from Kosovo in the markets of the EFTA countries.

The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade (MINT) said it will continue to support businesses through information and clarifications on the opportunities offered by the Agreement, with the aim of increasing exports, creating new partnerships and economic development, as Telegrafi reports.
