Minister Salla from Devoll: Concrete interventions for greater protection against floods
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, has shared on social networks footage of the ongoing work for the cleaning, widening, and rehabilitation of the Devoll River embankment, aiming to increase protection against flooding of agricultural lands and surrounding areas.
“From the Devoll River, where work continues on the cleaning, widening, and rehabilitation of 4.3 km of embankment, from the Pheasant Forest to Orman, as well as the reinforcement of the banks,” writes Minister Salla.
The works have been ongoing for more than a month on both sides of the embankment, over a length of 4.3 kilometers, in the segment from the Pheasant Forest to the village of Orman. This part of the embankment was damaged along its length by last year’s floods. The intervention plans the removal of 143,000 m³ of alluvium, while in parallel the work for river protection with gabions and quarry stone is being completed, over a length of 370 linear meters, on both sides of the embankment.
“Concrete interventions for greater protection against floods, safety for agricultural lands and surrounding areas,” emphasizes Minister Salla.
