Murder of “Tani i Rruzhdiut”: footage of the perpetrator emerges — he was holding two weapons

Photos and video of the suspected perpetrator of the murder of 44-year-old Artan Myrtaj were published days after the event that shook Saranda. As seen in the footage, the suspected perpetrator is seen with a helmet on his head, dressed in a green jacket and black trousers.

He is also holding two firearms in his hands. The footage also shows the moment the perpetrator follows the victim from behind. Authorities have not yet managed to identify the suspected perpetrator as they work to fully clarify the circumstances and motive of the murder.

Artan Myrtaj, known as “Tani i Ruzhdiut”, was executed on 20 September in the city of Saranda. A passer-by was also injured.

The 44-year-old was shot with a hail of bullets. He had only been released from pre-trial detention a few weeks earlier, after the court had set the measure of ‘obligation to report’. He had been arrested in July 2025 for the wounding of two young men from Kamza, Ernest Lame and Gëzim Hajdaraj.
