New archaeological discovery in Qesarat, Tepelenë, result of the Albanian-Italian expedition

A new archaeological discovery has been made in Qesarat, Tepelenë, as part of research by the Albanian-Italian expedition, a joint project of the Institute of Archaeology, part of the Academy of Sciences.

The Academy of Sciences announced that the discovery is the result of joint research by Albanian and Italian archaeologists, who are conducting fieldwork in Qesarat to document and study traces of archaeological heritage.

The Albanian-Italian expedition is part of the research activity of the Institute of Archaeology and aims to contribute to a deeper knowledge of the archaeological and historical wealth of the Tepelenë area.

The archaeologists’ work in Qesarat was also featured in a Report TV segment, showing the discoveries made and the expedition’s fieldwork.

The Academy of Sciences stresses that archaeological research and the documentation of field finds are part of the work to study, record and preserve Albania’s cultural heritage.

The new discovery adds to archaeological research carried out across the country under scientific cooperation projects with foreign institutions and scholars.
