Operation “Bridge” / Extradited yesterday from Italy, Special Court keeps Hasan Ndërjaku in prison
The Special Court kept Hasan Ndërjaku in prison; he was extradited yesterday (September 24) from Italy, a measure taken in absentia against him for a structured criminal group.
The court reconfirmed the measure while after his capture in Italy, he had been under house arrest.
During the session held this Friday at the GJKKO, Ndërjaku’s lawyer, Rigert Koni, asked that the Italian court’s decision, which relates to the conditions and limits of the extradition, also be administered in the trial.
According to the defense, the Italian court’s decision was not in the administration of either the Prosecution or the Court, even though Hasan Ndërjaku had been extradited to Albania only two days earlier.
Lawyer Koni asked that the Italian decision be administered and taken into consideration by the court, particularly the part where the Italian authorities, according to him, did not accept the extradition request for the charge of “structured group,” allowing it only for the criminal offense of drug trafficking.
However, the Special Court decided to continue implementing the “prison arrest” security measure for Ndërjaku. He was declared wanted within the codenamed operation “Ura” (Bridge).
