Petruševski: If Filipče wants the EU, he must not lie and wage a selective war against corruption
At a press conference held today, as Centar.mk reports, VMRO-DPMNE MP Brane Petruševski stated that SDSM leader Venko Filipče, “if he wants the EU, must not lie and wage a selective war against corruption and crime”. According to him, one of the main conditions for membership in the European Union is precisely the fight against corruption.
Petruševski said that what Filipče is doing now looks like a “selective war against corruption and a war against fellow party members who do not think like him”. The latest case mentioned, according to Centar.mk’s reporting, is the 37-million-euro scandal at the Ministry of Defence at the time when the minister was Slavjanka Petrovska, currently an SDSM MP and part of the “12.05” platform that seeks changes in SDSM.
On this case, VMRO-DPMNE has called on the Public Prosecutor’s Office to act, “as it calls for every case of corruption and crime, regardless of who the suspect is”, Petruševski said. He added that Filipče is obliged to hand over to the Prosecutor’s Office all the information he has on this and on any other case where there are suspicions of crime.
“Otherwise we will consider that Filipče is lying and applying double standards”, the VMRO-DPMNE MP said, adding that the SDSM leader must inform and hand over information to the Prosecutor’s Office on every case, regardless of who the suspect is.
