Presentation ceremony for Ambassador Wendt in Tirana, the US Embassy’s guests revealed: from President Begaj among some 130 guests

Under strong security measures, in the premises of a hotel in the former Blloku area, the US Embassy held the welcome reception for Ambassador Eric Wendt.

Top Channel reports that around 130 people were invited, among them the President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj.

The guests were not only politicians from both sides, but also other officials of the Albanian state, ministers, heads of justice bodies, including people from other fields, together with those considered friends of the US Embassy in Tirana.

As he himself had warned a few days ago, there was no invitation to this reception for the chairman of the DP, Sali Berisha.

But Gazment Bardhi, chairman of the DP parliamentary group, was filmed entering, together with his colleague MP Oerd Bylykbashi.

Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist parliamentary group, had also received an invitation, but was not at this reception as he is in Finland.

Also invited were the former Speaker of Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, together with Bledi Çuçi, chairman of the parliamentary committee on internal affairs and defence.

After them arrived also the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, who was one of the first office-holders to meet Wendt, after his arrival in Tirana a few days ago.
