Protesters symbolically hand the draft law on the Specialist Chambers law to the Government
At the end of Thursday’s nationwide protest, held in Pristina in defence of the KLA and against the Specialist Court’s judgment on the former KLA leaders, protesters symbolically delivered to the Kosovo Government building files filled with the draft law to amend the Law on the Specialist Chambers.
The draft law is a proposal of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), which has sought a review of the law that gave life to the Specialist Court — one of the main demands articulated during the October 1 march in the capital’s square.
At first the protesters were prevented by a police cordon from approaching the executive’s building, but some of them were allowed to carry out the symbolic handover, as Klan Kosova reports.
After the handover, the participants dispersed peacefully from the government area.
The event marked the conclusion of the October 1 protest in Pristina, where thousands of citizens gathered to express support for the KLA and to oppose the Specialist Court’s decision on its former leaders.
