Rama from Rinas: the measure against the SHISH chief was ‘extreme’ — an institution of special importance was exposed
Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a video message from “Nënë Tereza” airport, immediately after arriving from the United States, described as extreme the measure taken by SPAK against the head of SHISH.
“I have just returned from New York where, as you know, I represented Albania at the UN. I decided to head straight from ‘Nënë Tereza’ airport. The latest developments, following the house-arrest measure for the former head of SHISH, require immediate and direct addressing. It was undoubtedly an extreme measure, considering that an institution of special importance was exposed. I have no right to interfere in the content of the file and in what led the court to do this. I have not done it before and I will not do it. Every suspicion must be investigated to the end. Every accusation must be dismissed or proven through an impartial process. When events bring it that an investigation climbs to the head, this is not the problem of an independent state, but of the whole state. It has left our partners speechless,” Rama said.
The prime minister’s message comes after SPAK’s investigations into the dismissed director of the State Intelligence Service, Vlora Hyseni, who is suspected of handing over secret information to businessman Ergys Agasi.
