SDT: “Skaljar” clan suspected Lopiqici of betraying them, so they had him executed

Montenegro’s Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) has ordered an investigation into four leaders of the Skaljar cell of the Balkan narcotics cartel over the murder of Savo Lopiqici in Spain in August 2020, the Montenegrin daily Vijesti reports.
According to the investigation order, the suspects are R.B. and I.Đ. — whom Vijesti identifies as the fugitive Skaljar clan members Radomir Boban Baćović and Ivan Gjonović — as well as the two deceased men M.R. and G.V., respectively Milo Radulović and Goran Vlaović.
The investigation materials state that the Skaljar cell leaders suspected Lopiqici of cooperating with a rival criminal organization. On that basis, they organized his execution: the body was buried on Spanish territory, while all evidence and traces of the crime were destroyed.
According to the SDT, the killing was carried out by members of R.B.’s criminal organization who were not Montenegrin citizens. In exchange for liquidating Lopiqici, the hitmen were promised payment in cash and cocaine. Baćović and Gjonović are suspected of aggravated murder committed out of reckless revenge and for material gain.
