The most senior law enforcement leaders have gathered in The Hague from 59 countries and representatives of 15 international organisations, among them the head of the State Police, Skënder Hita.
According to the State Police announcement, the conference organised and coordinated by Europol, in which the director general took part, demonstrates the State Police’s commitment to being an active part of the European security architecture and to responding to the new security challenges in Europe.
At the conference, attended by more than 500 police chiefs and delegates, emphasis was placed on the need to unify strategies and coordinate forces in the face of the growing complexity of global threats and modern crime.
During the proceedings, the prevention of radicalisation and the new security challenges, which require integrated and coordinated treatment, were discussed. The role of security structures as an important barrier against the movement of criminal elements and the fight against cross-border crimes was underlined.
In this context, the necessity of strengthening cross-sectoral cooperation between the police, the financial sector and technology platforms was underlined, in order to prevent and tackle online fraud.
The State Police further explains that the conference proceedings, held from 28 to 30 September, focused on strengthening cross-border cooperation and joint action in the face of new security threats.
For the Albanian State Police, the Director General’s participation in this high-impact international conference is an important opportunity to intensify international cooperation and increase strategic analysis capacities, in the service of the fight against crime and guaranteeing a safer environment for citizens.
