Sentenced to 9 Years in Italy, High-Risk 40-Year-Old Arrested in Peshkopi
A 40-year-old man has been arrested by police in Peshkopi. His arrest came after it emerged that he had been sentenced in Italy to 9 years in prison for the criminal offences of “criminal organisation” and “exploitation of prostitution.”
The arrested man has been identified as Gëzim Dani, alias Gëzim Hidri. He is considered a person of high social risk. Police are continuing work on his extradition to Italy.

Caught in Peshkopi, 1 citizen of high social risk, sentenced in Italy to 9 years in prison for the criminal offences ‘criminal organisation’ and ‘exploitation of prostitution’.
In continuation of cooperation through Interpol Tirana and counterparts in Italy, for the localisation and capture of citizens declared internationally wanted, specialists of the Search Sector (FAST Albania) in the Special Operational Force Directorate at the General Directorate of State Police, in cooperation with the services of the Dibër Local Police Directorate, finalised another phase of the coded operation ‘Fast’, during which the citizen was caught in Peshkopi and arrested: – Gëzim Dani alias Gëzim Hidri, 40 years old.
This citizen had been declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, Italy, after the Naples Court of Appeal, with its decision of 15.11.2021, sentenced him to 9 years in prison for the criminal offences ‘criminal organisation’ and ‘exploitation of prostitution’, because he exploited girls from Eastern Europe for prostitution in the Naples area in 2009.
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, continues the procedure for the extradition of the 40-year-old to Italy,” police announce.
