Territorial reform, DP at the Laws Commission: Don’t vote, our project has been sent for consultation
The meeting of the Laws Commission has begun, while discussions are taking place regarding the draft law “On the administrative-territorial division of local government units in the Republic of Albania”.
During the meeting, the Democratic Party asked for the discussions to be interrupted and for the replies from the municipalities on the opposition’s draft to be awaited, which envisages increasing the number of municipalities to 100.
Democratic deputy Oerd Bylykbashi, during the discussions, asked that there be no vote and that their project be sent for consultation.
“Don’t vote, our project has been sent for consultation,” Bylykbashi said.
DP deputy Jorida Tabaku also raised concern over the lack of consultation with Tirana Municipality.
The Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party filed in September the draft law on the administrative-territorial division of local government units in Albania, in which it proposed that the country should have 100 municipalities and 12 counties.
