Two “Audi Q7” vehicles disobeyed the police order to stop, ramming patrols at a checkpoint and speeding away. The operation took place last evening on the Kapshticë–Lozhan–Gramsh axis, where police suspect the two vehicles were being used to transport illegal migrants.
According to reports, the operation began near Kapshtica, in Devoll, where police forces spotted the two Audi Q7s. After a pursuit, the drivers are suspected of leaving around 15 migrants near Lozhan and continuing toward Gramsh.
At a checkpoint in Gramsh, the two vehicles collided with police patrols, also endangering service personnel. The drivers continued fleeing, and the two Audi Q7s were later found abandoned in two villages of Gramsh.
Meanwhile, the 15 migrants were found hiding in a stream near the village of Lozhan, while the two vehicles were seized.
Police have identified the two drivers of the vehicles, who have been declared wanted, while a third person has been criminally charged while remaining at liberty.
The operation was carried out by the Korça Border and Migration Directorate, the investigative structures of the Korça Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Gramsh Police Station and Tirana Police Station No. 5.
