Two neurologists prosecuted after the death of a 40-year-old; suspected of negligent treatment

Two neurologists at the Shkodra Regional Hospital have been prosecuted while at liberty, suspected of negligent treatment of a 40-year-old man who later died, as ShkodraWeb reports.

The patient was initially admitted to the neurology ward in Shkodra, but his condition deteriorated and he was transferred to the ‘Mother Teresa’ University Hospital Center in Tirana, where he passed away.

The Shkodra Prosecution Office has launched criminal proceedings against the two doctors on suspicion of “negligent medical treatment,” and a forensic examination is expected to determine whether the treatment followed protocol.

The hospital’s directorate said it will cooperate fully with the investigation.
