U.S. embassy in Riyadh issues security alert for American citizens in Saudi Arabia
The U.S. embassy in Riyadh issued a security alert on Monday for American citizens in Saudi Arabia, warning them of the risk of air attacks amid escalating tensions in the region — as Al Jazeera reports.
“Due to the ongoing security situation in Saudi Arabia and the potential for drone or missile air attacks against Saudi Arabia, the U.S. Mission strongly urges all U.S. citizens to remain vigilant and to follow the guidance of national alerts issued by Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence,” said the notice published on X.

The alert comes at a sensitive moment: the Mecca pact alliance activated “collective deterrence measures” earlier today after Houthi attacks on the Kingdom, while Washington has warned of a growing threat to American targets and allies in the Persian Gulf.
The U.S. State Department has issued similar warnings earlier in this war as well — in September the U.S. embassy put out security alerts for areas of Saudi Arabia, a sign of the growing threat to the Kingdom’s infrastructure.
