UEFA Executive Committee Meets in Thessaloniki, Future Competition Decisions in Focus
UEFA’s Executive Committee will hold its next meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, from 09:00 to 13:00.
A series of important issues for European football will be in focus, including the designation of host venues for the finals of some of UEFA’s main competitions. On the Executive Committee’s agenda are decisions on the host venues for the finals of:
- UEFA Champions League for 2028 and 2029;
- UEFA Europa League for 2028 and 2029;
- UEFA Conference League for 2028 and 2029;
- UEFA Women’s Champions League for 2028 and 2029;
- UEFA Super Cup for 2027 and 2028;
- UEFA Futsal Champions League for 2027.
The Executive Committee will also review the regulations of UEFA’s women’s European championships, including the UEFA Women’s Nations League and the UEFA Women’s European Qualifiers for the 2027–2029 cycle.
The agenda will also include the regulations of UEFA competitions for boys’ and girls’ youth categories for the 2027/28 season.
Another important item relates to changes in the UEFA Nations League regulations for the 2026/27 edition, focusing on the new play-off system. This change comes within the framework of the transition toward the new competition concept, approved in May, with three leagues instead of the four-league format.
In the early afternoon hours, in the center of Thessaloniki, a grassroots football festival will also be held in Aristotelous Square. The activity is organized within the framework of UEFA’s “Football in Schools” program.
