VIDEO/ Footage emerges of the mafia-style execution of Artan Murtaj in Saranda — the moment the 44-year-old tried to flee

These are the moments when Artan Murtaj was ambushed with gunfire as he got up from a bar in the former agency area of Saranda.

Security cameras show the 44-year-old getting up from the café and then walking on foot along the sidewalk, when suddenly a masked person wearing a helmet and carrying a firearm stepped in front of him and shot him.

Murtaj fell to the ground and then tried to run away, but could not escape as the assailant shot him again.

From the footage it is difficult to identify the attacker, as he wore a helmet on his head, an olive-green jacket and gloves on his hands.

A few meters away, another person was waiting for the assailant, and the two fled together on a motorcycle. Artan Murtaj, also known as Tani i Ruzhdies, was executed on Sunday, September 20, in the area known as the former Agency in the city of Saranda, A2 CNN reports.

A 73-year-old passerby was also injured during the execution.
