Vučić at the Arena promises a “Government on wheels”: Serbia with 12 ministers instead of 31 and himself as prime minister
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who leads the “Serbia Wins” list, held his final pre-election rally this evening at Belgrade Arena, where he presented a new concept of the government cabinet — a “Government on wheels” — and confirmed that he will run for prime minister.
Vučić said Serbia needs speed and efficiency, so the future government will have only 12 ministers, instead of the current 31. “Serbia needs a fast government. For the first time in history, we will have a Government with only 12 ministers, a government constantly on the move — ‘a Government on wheels’. What we need is speed; Serbian ministers will be in a different city every day, in villages, solving problems on the ground,” he said.
He added that the new cabinet will take office only three days after the election results are announced, while emphasising that he himself will be a candidate for the post of prime minister, after his presidential term ends.
At the same time, the head of state criticised the opposing list, “United for the People’s Victory”, saying: “Against us stands a list that until yesterday called itself student, even though it has nothing to do with students, because it is a NATO list, led by media owned by tycoons.”
In closing, Vučić said his team has something the opponents do not: “We have something they do not have — we have a dream, we have a vision. We have not only a dream about what Serbia will be in 4 years, but also in 10, 20 and 35 years. Serbia will win and no one will stop its progress.”
