300 kg of cannabis hidden in truck, one arrested in Greece: drugs worth over €1.2 million

Another major blow was dealt to drug trafficking networks in Greece. Authorities found drugs worth more than €1 million hidden inside trucks.

The operation led to the identification and arrest of a driver. Inside his truck, behind the legal cargo, 296 carefully hidden hermetically sealed packages were found, containing 300 kilograms and 880 grams of high-purity cannabis.

According to the authorities, the shipment was loaded in Spain and passed through Ancona to reach Greece. It would then have entered the country’s markets. The expected profit for the members of the criminal organization is estimated to exceed €1,200,000.

In addition to the large shipment, the authorities seized the tractor and trailer, €1,755 in cash, and mobile phones. The investigation revealed that the arrested person is known to the authorities with a criminal past involving criminal organization, fraud, money laundering and migrant smuggling.
