Allan Saint-Maximin Scores First Goal for Charlotte FC, Decides Winner Against D.C. United
Allan Saint-Maximin scored his first goal for Charlotte FC on Saturday evening, which proved to be the decisive strike in a 2–1 away win over D.C. United. The former Newcastle United Premier League winger arrived in Charlotte as a Designated Player from RC Lens and immediately showed his impact on the squad.
As mlssoccer reports, Saint-Maximin has not only scored his first goal but has also provided five assists in eight league matches; his creativity and pace on the left flank have been key elements in the team’s improved play.
With a run of five wins, no losses and three draws in their last eight matches (5W-0L-3D), Charlotte FC have reached fourth place with 43 points, a position that would secure home-field advantage in the first round of the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs. Saint-Maximin is expected to remain one of the league’s most dangerous attackers in the decisive phase of the season.
According to mlssoccer, the connections he is building with teammates such as Pep Biel and Idan Toklomati could prove decisive for Charlotte FC’s ambitions for the rest of the season and in the playoffs.
