Appeal of the verdict against four former KLA leaders: judges named for the Appeals Panel in The Hague

The Kosovo Specialist Chambers have confirmed the names of the judges who will sit on the Appeals Panel regarding the indictment against the KLA leaders.

In an email, the President of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers announced the judges’ names: Michele Picard, Kai Ambos, and Nina Jorgensen.

“In her decision, the President took into account the criteria set out in Rule 4 of the Rules on the Assignment of Judges, including relevant experience and expertise, as well as the availability of judges at this time,” the email states.

Recall that Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi, and Jakup Krasniqi were sentenced on September 16 to a total of 81 years in prison — a trial that caused dissatisfaction in Kosovo and Albania and was accompanied by numerous protests in Pristina.
