“Cameras camouflaged in alarm devices”, Malaj: The videos circulating online are causing major social dramas
Lecturer Nora Malaj discussed on “Review” with Greta Topjana the violation of privacy and cybersecurity. She stresses that the real risks come from the use of various technological devices such as security cameras, which at first glance do not look like such.
Malaj underlines that if the devices are not properly protected, they can fall prey to misuse and allow unauthorised access to individuals’ personal or intimate spaces.
“The whole situation has become endlessly charged and all of this has turned into food. It seems as if a vortex has been created with sinners and everyone is dancing in this vortex, some prejudging and some enjoying themselves. The whole problem is: where are the children?
They are in front of these devices. On the basis of fundamental human rights, the state of every country has a legal obligation to protect its citizens, but above all the children, whom it has as minors and who, in the face of every evil, do not know how to react, but you can help them”, Malaj stressed.
She points out that children remain the most at risk, while advising that cyber specialists should ensure that the circulation of such videos is not accessible.
“The groups that deal with cybernetics can put into all these videos a virus called a ‘spider virus’, which, if the child or the adult tries to open it, automatically blocks their phone. The state must provide guarantees, first in human rights, second in mental health, third in not having perversities, fourth in preserving social relations. Because major social bombs have exploded, a bomb that is relativising for us the evil that must be prevented.
There is no video left unheard, and we have seen that they have caused major dramas. This whole event is showing us that we have terrible days that affect children”, she said.
