Deliberately set fire on Podgorica’s Gorica hill put out at an early stage

A deliberately set fire was recorded on Saturday evening on Gorica hill, in the heart of Podgorica, as the public portal RTCG reports.

According to the announcement of the Capital City’s Protection and Rescue Service, published on social networks, the fire was set tonight on Gorica hill, one of the greenest areas of the city.

“With the swift intervention of the firefighters, the fire was put out at an early stage, preventing its further spread,” the service stressed, according to RTCG reporting.

Three crews with nine firefighters took part in the extinguishing operation. No injuries or major material damage were reported from the incident.

Gorica hill is Podgorica’s largest park and the symbol from which the city took its name; fires in this area during the hot months are a recurring problem for the authorities of the capital.
