DNP delegation meets U.S. Congressman Derrick Van Orden in Dallas, a close Trump ally

A delegation of the Democratic People’s Party (DNP) met with U.S. Congressman Derrick Van Orden during its stay in Dallas, as part of an offensive dubbed “Učinimo Crnu Goru ponovo velikom” (“Let’s Make Montenegro Great Again”), the DNP announced.

According to the DNP, Van Orden is a Republican congressman from Wisconsin and one of the politicians closest to President Donald Trump. In 2025, he voted in Congress in line with Trump’s positions on all key votes, while Trump himself has publicly backed his re-election.

DNP president Milan Knežević introduced the congressman to the party’s history, its political activity, and the principled policy the DNP pursues without calculations — particularly its support for Trump’s policies, which Knežević says he has openly and strongly supported from the start.

The delegation shared with Van Orden its enthusiasm for the Republican convention in Dallas and its impressions of the energy and strength of the U.S. Republican Party. Van Orden, interested in political developments in Montenegro, suggested to Knežević that the campaign slogan be precisely “Učinimo Crnu Goru ponovo velikom”.

The DNP called the meeting “another important step in the party’s international activity,” adding that its voice for Montenegro is being heard ever more loudly beyond its borders.
