‘Don’t Breathe 3’ confirmed: Fede Álvarez announces the script and the return of Jane Levy and Stephen Lang

During a celebratory screening for the 10th anniversary of Don’t Breathe at the Beyond Fest festival in Santa Monica, on September 26, director Fede Álvarez confirmed that the third installment of the horror franchise is officially in the works, as TheWrap reports.

Álvarez revealed that the script of the new film is already written and that original stars Jane Levy, as Rocky, and Stephen Lang, as the ‘Blind Man’, will return to their iconic roles, a decade after the first film.

However, the director did not confirm whether he will also direct the third film himself, and no other details were made public, including the possible premiere date. Representatives of Álvarez and of Sony did not comment immediately, according to the report.

The first film of 2016 became a box-office phenomenon, earning $157 million worldwide on a budget of about $10 million. The 2021 sequel, which focused only on Lang’s character, grossed $53 million globally.

Levy, also known from Álvarez’s own Evil Dead, returns to the saga ten years after her debut. The news was first confirmed by TheWrap, during the festive ceremony in Santa Monica.
