Eight killed in Russian attacks across Ukraine, strikes on energy infrastructure too

At least eight people have been killed in fresh Russian attacks across different parts of Ukraine, targeting industrial facilities, energy infrastructure and cities near the front lines, as Kyiv intensifies its own incursions deep into Russian territory.

The attacks came as President Volodymyr Zelensky was in New York, where he met his counterpart Donald Trump on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky accused Moscow of deliberately targeting businesses, farms, warehouses, railways, energy infrastructure and apartment buildings.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, industrial facilities in the cities of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Pavlohrad were hit, according to local authorities.

Four people were killed and seven others injured at an Interpipe facility in Dnipro. Two people lost their lives in Kherson, while another was killed in Odesa, the strategically important port on the Black Sea.

In the Donetsk region, police reported another death from a guided bomb dropped by a Russian aircraft. The region remains one of the main fronts of the conflict, with Kramatorsk at the center of Russian operations.

In Izyum, Kharkiv region, airstrikes injured seven people. In the northern region of Chernihiv, nearly 100,000 consumers were left without electricity after a Russian attack, according to a power distribution company.

Ukraine’s Naftogaz also announced that its facilities had been targeted by ballistic missiles. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Russian raids used ballistic and modified anti-ship missiles, four cruise missiles and a total of 212 drones.
