FC Cincinnati Sign Dutch Defender Tyrell Malacia

FC Cincinnati have confirmed the signing of Dutch defender Tyrell Malacia. The 27-year-old has signed a contract through June 2027, with an option for the 2027–28 MLS season, and arrives as a free agent following his spell at Manchester United.

As reported by mlssoccer, Malacia made 50 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions and came through the Feyenoord academy. During his career he was also loaned to PSV Eindhoven and has amassed around 200 club-level appearances in Europe, while earning nine caps for the Netherlands, most recently appearing at the 2023 UEFA Nations League finals.

General manager Chris Albright praised Malacia’s experience, describing him as an addition who brings quality on the ball, defensive instincts and a team mentality — qualities the club expects to strengthen its back line.
