Fish dying in the Treska River; urgent water tests demanded

Fish deaths have been recorded in the Treska River in the Kičevo region, the “Hunter Fish” sport fishing association announced last night, calling for an immediate response from the competent institutions.

The association says the cause of the deaths has not yet been determined and demands that samples of the water and dead fish be taken immediately and laboratory tests performed.

According to them, all possible causes must be investigated, including possible pollution or other interventions that could endanger living life in the river.

“Any pollution, poisoning or other intervention that threatens life in the river must be fully investigated and the cause and responsibility determined,” says “Hunter Fish.”

The association calls on the competent institutions to take measures to protect the Treska so that similar cases are prevented in the future.
