Google and Gemini, new tools for teachers

Google is expanding the use of artificial intelligence in education, integrating Gemini more closely with Google Classroom and bringing tools that use classroom context to help teachers and students.

One of the main novelties is the connected Google Classroom app inside Gemini. It lets teachers use classroom data securely when they ask for information about assignments, results or student progress.

According to Google, Gemini’s answers can be based on the most relevant information for the class in question, helping teachers understand more quickly which topics need revision and which students may need extra support.

The company is also expanding the use of Gemini inside Google Classroom for students. They can use course materials to create study guides, quizzes and other activities, while teachers can receive data on the areas where a class or a student needs more help.

Google has also introduced “study notebooks” in Gemini, which create personalised lessons and exercises according to the student’s level and gaps in knowledge.

According to the company, the aim is for artificial intelligence to be used as a support tool for teachers, while decision-making and the direction of the teaching process remain in their hands.
