Hamilton Hits Back at Latest Rumours: “I’ve Never Asked to Replace Anyone on the Team”
The British Ferrari driver is trying to clarify his position, after claims that his relationship with Vasseur is no longer what it used to be.
Lewis Hamilton, in a long social media post, seeks to silence the rumours about a possible attempt of his to change the team’s leading figures. The rumours refer to Frédéric Vasseur. The British driver has said publicly that the team could be managed better in some aspects.
Lewis Hamilton’s reaction comes days after the Madrid race, where the champion was forced to retire due to a brake problem. A heavy blow that further compromised his run in the World Championship, where the absolute favourite is Kimi Antonelli.
“I’ve seen some news circulating and I want to clarify something. I have never asked for a member of my team to be changed,” Hamilton stresses. “All the people I work with give their maximum every day and their dedication helps us move forward.
I always try to give strength to people, to help them be the best version of themselves. Maybe I don’t always succeed, but that is my goal and what I want to do here. We all work together and that’s how we’ll continue.”
Many Ferrari fans, embittered by the latest disappointment, immediately thought of Vasseur after reading Hamilton’s post. In recent days there has been talk of friction between the driver and the team principal. Hamilton wanted to dispel these rumours, but much depends on Ferrari’s on-track performance.
