Jovanović (NDSS): With the “Authentic Right” Coalition We Aim for Our Best-Ever Election Result

New Democratic Party of Serbia (Nova DSS) leader Miloš Jovanović said on Tuesday that his party, on the “Autentična desnica” (“Authentic Right”) list together with the political alliance Monarchists – the Movement for the Kingdom of Serbia, is entering the October 25 elections aiming to achieve its “best result ever”.

The statement was made to journalists in front of the Serbian Supreme Command’s Kajmakčalan observatory, relocated to Pionirski Park in Belgrade. Jovanović called the election race an “extremely serious matter”, saying the “stakes of the elections have never been higher since the return of multipartyism”.

He criticized the placement of the monument inside the fenced area known as “Ćacilend”, calling it an “example of the vulgarity, primitivism and false patriotism” of those in power.

On national positions, Jovanović said the answer to the EU’s demand for recognition of “the secession of Kosovo and Metohija” must be “unacceptable”, and that Ratko Mladić “is a symbol of the fight for freedom”. He also criticized the student list for having “no answers on the most important national issues”, including EU membership.

Historian Nemanja Dević, presented as a candidate on the list, said the authorities deal “only with form” and have “traded” the identity issues of the Serbian people.
