Kurti Meets Mickoski in New York: Prizren–Tetovo Tunnel and Energy on the Agenda

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti met in New York with North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

Kurti himself announced the meeting through a social media post, saying he discussed with his counterpart cooperation between the two countries in infrastructure and energy.

Kurti stressed the importance of speeding up procedures for the Prizren–Tetovo tunnel project, calling it a project of particular importance for citizens, for tourism development and for the economies of both countries.

The meeting also discussed the implementation of the coal agreement. The two leaders agreed to continue working on joint projects that contribute to regional connectivity and energy security.

“Kosovo and North Macedonia, besides being neighbors, are friendly states and partners, with shared interests in peace, security, development and Euro-Atlantic integration,” Kurti wrote.
