Mojkovac: majority boycotts session on ousting mayor Deliq — shows ‘full support’
Councilors of the parliamentary majority in the Mojkovac Municipal Assembly today did not take part in the session that was to discuss the termination of the mandate of municipal mayor Vesko Deliq. According to a statement from the majority, their absence is a clear message that Deliq enjoys their full support and that local government remains united.
The parliamentary majority consists of the “For the Future of Mojkovac” coalition (NSD, DNP, SNP and PNP), the Democrats of Montenegro, United Montenegro, the URA Civic Movement and the citizens’ group “We Won’t Give Up Mojkovac.” Only councilors of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) attended the session.
“With their non-participation, the majority councilors sent a clear and uncontested message — Vesko Deliq has their full, unanimous and strong support to continue serving as mayor of the Municipality of Mojkovac,” the statement said.
According to them, the joint stance of the various political entities that make up local government confirms unity for the further development of Mojkovac, the preservation of local government stability and the continuation of launched projects.
“For the parliamentary majority there is no dilemma — the interest of Mojkovac and its citizens must come before daily political interests and attempts to destabilize local administration,” the statement stressed.
