PDK calls RTK’s reporting insulting and politically motivated, demands correction and public apology

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has reacted to a report aired in the central news edition of RTK, which claimed that PDK seeks “reduced sentences for KLA leaders.”

The party called this reporting false and insulting, saying it deliberately distorts its position.

In its reaction, PDK stresses that it has opposed the first-instance verdict and seeks the full release of the liberators. It also seeks the full commitment of the state to ensure them the best possible defense during the appeals process. According to PDK, its initiative to amend and supplement the Law on the Specialist Chambers also serves this goal.

“We do not accept that our demand for justice and full release be presented to the public as a demand for reduced sentences,” the reaction states.

PDK says the report raises serious concerns about the public broadcaster’s editorial policy and creates the impression of politically motivated distortion. The party has asked RTK to immediately correct the report, clarify its position and issue a public apology.
