Qatar Strongly Condemns Houthi Attacks on Taif and Yanbu: “A Reprehensible Hostile Act”
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the Houthi group for launching ballistic missiles toward the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu. In a statement posted on the X platform, the ministry said it condemns “in the strongest terms the Houthi group’s launches of ballistic missiles” toward Saudi Arabia.
Doha described these attacks as “a reprehensible hostile act that reflects the group’s continued rejection of regional peace efforts and its insistence on undermining security and stability in the region.”
The ministry also reiterated Qatar’s “categorical rejection” of attacks on civilian infrastructure and vital installations, expressing full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.
“Qatar stands by it in all legal measures it takes to protect its security, stability and the safety of its people,” the statement says.
The condemnation comes at a moment of escalating Houthi attacks on Saudi targets, amid fierce fighting in Yemen and heightened tensions around the strategic Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb straits. Qatar remains one of the main mediators in efforts to end the U.S.–Iran war.
