Tension at the protest in front of the Assembly – protesters push against police, entrance blocked with a truck

The situation in front of the Kosovo Assembly grew tense during the protest over amendments to the Law on Specialist Chambers.

Amid the tensions, some protesters were seen clashing with members of the Kosovo Police, while a truck was also brought to the scene in order to block the road near the Assembly.

After the situation, one of the citizens said they had had a misunderstanding with the Kosovo Police, while explaining the reason for placing the truck in front of the entrance to the Assembly.

“We came out to do our work, the police theirs. We had a misunderstanding with the police. The reason for placing the truck is so that the MPs are not allowed to leave if the law on the Specialist Chambers is not voted,” the citizen said.

The protesters are demanding that the MPs vote on the legal amendments to the Specialist Chambers, while the entrance and traffic near the Assembly building have been made difficult as a result of the protest, as Telegrafi reports.
