Positions on the Specialist Court, Geci says he was threatened with murder

Vetëvendosje Movement MP Fatos Geci has announced that he has faced serious threats, including death threats, because of his political positions and his vote regarding the Specialist Court.

Geci said he reported the case to the Kosovo Police, to the serious crimes unit, where, according to him, he submitted all the information he possesses about the person who threatened him by phone.

“The case is now in investigative procedure and I expect the competent bodies to act in accordance with the law,” Geci wrote.

He emphasised that political differences and debates are part of democracy, but he opposed threats to life.

“We may have different political convictions, we may debate and disagree, but threats to life are not politics,” Geci said.

The MP said he will continue to carry out his duty and to stand by his political convictions, despite the threats. He also expressed regret over the murder of his uncle’s son and over the Albanian political victims during and after the war. /Telegrafi/
