“The Old Lady” Is No More: Spalletti Fields No Italian Outfield Player in the Defeat to Sassuolo
The Juventus we knew is gone. The Piedmont club has become a team in a deep identity crisis. Luciano Spalletti’s men have collected seven points in four matches, from two wins and one draw.
What worries most is the way the team expresses itself on the pitch. The goals conceded were worthy of a Serie D side, but another stat worries the fans of the club that has won the most Serie A titles even more.
For the trip to Emilia-Romagna, the Juve coach opted to field from the first minute a lineup in which not a single Italian played as an outfield player.
Excluding goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, all the others were non-Italian players. The lack of results and this fact — which had never happened before in the club’s history — have alarmed the fans.
