Zelensky: Russia has launched a new military mobilization
KYIV, September 28 – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that Russia has begun a new mobilization process and is trying to recruit more people for its army. “The Russians also plan to involve more foreign citizens,” Zelensky said in a video message published this evening.
He said the information was provided by Ukrainian security services, as the ATSH-DPA news agencies report. For several months there has been speculation, discussion and still-unconfirmed claims that Russia could launch a new mobilization to replace the heavy troop losses at the front in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin has so far categorically denied these concerns.
Zelensky also said Ukraine has received new information about North Korean soldiers in Russia. “There are currently more than 8,000 North Korean soldiers on Russian territory,” Zelensky said. According to him, another 10,000 soldiers are being prepared, selected for training and then to be sent to Russia.
Zelensky said Russia is rewarding North Korea with technology for its military assistance. According to him, in exchange for this help, the production of “Shahed”-type attack drones has begun in North Korea, with technical support from Russia. Zelensky said this shows that military cooperation between the countries could spread threats to other parts of the world.
