Akshay Kumar joins R Madhavan, Disha Patani and Shriya Saran in Sajid Khan’s new comedy

Akshay Kumar joins R Madhavan, Disha Patani and Shriya Saran in director Sajid Khan’s new comedy, a still-untitled film being put together as a large-scale ensemble comedy, as Box Office Worldwide reports — a development also reported by Bollywood Hungama.

According to sources, the film is conceived as a full comedy of errors revolving around middle-aged men: the centre of gravity will fall on the duo Akshay Kumar–R Madhavan, while Disha Patani and Shriya Saran will play the leading romantic roles. The project is backed by producer Ektaa R Kapoor and is planned as a major commercial production, with an extensive filming schedule.

The announcement comes a few months after Kumar and Madhavan’s dramatic collaboration in “Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh” (2025), where they appeared as opponents in a courtroom drama; this time they will be on the same side, in Sajid Khan’s comic space. For Akshay, it is the third reunion with the director after “Heyy Babyy”, “Housefull” and “Housefull 2” — films that turned them into one of Indian comedy’s best-known duos.

Filming is planned to start in London at the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027, with a full start-to-finish schedule. Akshay Kumar is expected to join the shoot after finishing Kanishk Varma’s thriller “Samuk”, while Sajid Khan is wrapping up “Hero Ki Horrorine” with Yashvardhan Ahuja and Nitanshi Goel.
